Description
The 39M mortar was a German 5cm Leichter Granatwerfer 36 designed by Rheinmetall-Borsig in the mid 1930s. Although it was a standard German light infantry mortar due to its complexity and weight, it was gradually withdrawn from front line service in 1942 and supplied to second-line units as well as Royal Hungary Army.
The mortar provided support to the infantry platoon or section, allowing them to engage targets that were beyond the reach of hand-thrown grenades.
This pack contains two metal models, mortar and includes 2 round 25mm MDF bases.
Models supplied unassembled and unpainted.
These miniatures should be cleaned of flash lines using a sharp knife and needle file prior to painting. Some assembly may be required. This product contains lead. Not suitable for minors under 14 years.

Mis identification. While the Hungarians DID use the German 5cm leichte Granatwerfer 36 during the war, I believe it had the designation 36.M. Howver, the Hungarian army also had an indiginous 5 cm mortar, which was quite different, and WAS designated as the 39.M.
